Mr Weah,
In various
interviews, you stated that “even though you
might be lacking in education, you had enough
common sense to lead Liberia”. We will test your
common sense to see if you are really up to par by
asking the following questions:
- If
you claim that an election worker had gathered
evidence of fraud (i.e. pre-filled ballots that
were stuffed in the ballot boxes) why did they
not bring it up to the officials in charge of
the polling stations? Why did they not complain
to the election observers (UN, EU, AU, ECOWAS,
NDI, NRI, and Carter Center) that were visiting
these polling stations? A reasonable doubt is
created when you display 39 pre-filled ballots
at your headquarters and said that they came
from the polling stations. You and your cohort
of DIRTY politicians ( Baccus Matthew, Tipoteh
et all) could have seen the writing on the wall
and decided that the only option was to accuse
the election commission and Unity Party of
cheating.
- Don’t
you think that you and your political strategists
underestimated the Liberian people? Everyone
knows that you had your hard core fan base of
thugs and ex-combatants. These are the people
that the majority of the Liberian populations
are terrified of. They were a large
group but not the majority. During the first
round, there were 22 candidates, so it was clear
that your supporters were more than any of the
other candidates’. During the runoff, it was a
whole new ball game. Any candidate (except
Baccus Matthew or Tipoteh) could have defeated
you. There were 51.9 percent of the voters who
chose other candidates. Only
a well organized political campaign that built
strategic alliances could pull of a victory.
Instead of seeking alliances from party standard
bearers and unscrupulous individuals, as you
did, the Unity party sought out individuals who
could garner big votes in their favor.
- You
built your campaign on the slogan “you know
book, you don’t know book, I will vote for
you”; how do you think this sounded to the
market woman who is selling her life away to
provide education for her children? How about
the poor people who have to chose between
putting food on the table and sending their kids
to school? Most Liberians know the essence of a
sound education. This is one of the reasons that
you were rejected in the second round.
- Any
rational Liberian who was disappointed in you
refusal to debate Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf
wouldn’t have voted for you. If you couldn’t
stand up and defend your party’s platform in
front of the Liberian people, how would you
perform as president when you had to represent
Liberia? You were ill advised by your
strategists.
- Lastly,
how can you reconcile the vote differential of
154,618 votes? If all of these ballots were
pre-filled and stuffed in the boxes prior to
voting, it would have been impossible to
overlook. The party reps, election observers or
election officials would have raised the RED
FLAG!! There has to be more than just your 39
ballots to challenge the election and call for a
rerun.
Mr. Weah, you as an
athlete are aware that in every game, there is a
winner and a loser. This is one game that you were
out played by the opposition. The game plan used
by the Unity Party was building strategic
alliances in crucial voting blocks of the country.
They had the right people on their team who had
the respect and loyalty of their communities.
You were not able to
convince the Liberian people that popularity
supersedes qualification.
You have lost the
election, but you still have the love and
adoration of the people as Liberia most popular
super star. You were once the United Nation’s
goodwill Ambassador. Don’t become an impediment
to peace. You must concede and let the Nation
begin to heal. There is a lot of work to be done,
lets begin to rebuild our country and claim our
rightful place amongst the world body.
God Bless the Liberian
people and save the country!!!
