Sunday, October 2, 2005

It is with profound grief that we bring to you the sad news of the passing of our friend, relative, and partisan, David Sumoiwu Pewu.

This said event occurred today following the removal of ventilating tubes that were sustaining Pewu for the past few weeks. Pewu’s brother, Mr. James Lake, his girlfriend, Ms. Elisa Johnson, and close friends Lilly Mae Banks and Thomas Kollie remained by Pewu’s bedside until he was pronounced dead on Sunday, October 02, 2005 at 12:10 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time).

The late Brother Pewu’s tubes were removed in strict adherence to the advanced directive he had earlier issued both by voice recording and writing that he prefers not to be kept on such tubes for more than two weeks if doctors were not optimistic about his revival.

The recording of Pewu’s directive was played back yesterday in the presence of his friends and his brother, Mr. James Lake of Trenton, New Jersey, who had flown to Texas earlier to join friends and relatives who were catering to Pewu.

Pewu is survived by a host of relatives including his two sons—Quoiquoi, who was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, at the time Pewu resided in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, and his younger son he just got in Fort Worth, Texas, with Ms. Elisa Johnson.

Funeral arrangements for our late friend, relative, and Partisan will be announced shortly. Meanwhile, the teleconference planned for the coming Friday, October 7, 2005 will still go ahead as agreed. The conference will be set up shortly and the specifics will be provided you.

May the soul of Brother Pewu rest in perfect peace and may light perpetual shine upon him.
