Liberia Is Not Ready 2009
March 19, 2009
Today a 12-month extension of Deferred Enforced Departure for Liberians was confirmed. Liberians in the U.S. who are registered for DED will be permitted to remain and work lawfully in the U.S. for one year.
Thank you
for your efforts in contacting the White House in support of the DED extension.
Legislation creating a path for permanent resident status for Liberians who have lived on protracted temporary status is expected to be introduced in Congress this year.
Thank you to our partners in the Coalition for Permanent Residency for the tremendous work to secure this extension.
