The Knuckles sexual scandal - A fraction of the Liberian Ills

In reference to the article, by Tewroh-Wehtoe Sungbeh titled "Knuckles' threesome photo betrays trust of a loyal Pres. Sirleaf," dated Wednesday, February 21, 2007, which exposes the truth through the eyes of a picture, nevertheless in my opinion, tells a lot more about the dysfunctional ideologies and behaviors within our Liberian way of life.

                        I pray and hope that some positive lesson is steered out of this to  necessitate changes that will focus on human dignity, respect, justice and peace.

  Perspective:    Massive complements showered the recent successful negotiation of $391M debt to the US, and then come the despair. President Ellen Johnson- Sirleaf’s good intention for the country in one of her early speeches warned against licentious behaviors and corruption of the past. She vowed to eradicate their existence. Let’s be mindful that the dysfunctional system was inherited.

                        Over the years, inventory of reckless behavior patterns, such as corruption, embezzlement, bribery, scheming, tribalism, favoritism; child-sex, child-porno, sex-slave, godpa-godma syndrome, firstborn incest, prostitution, polygamy, rape; rich vs. poor, power-class-struggle; illegal drugs, alcoholism; domestic violence, gang violence, brutality, arm-robbery, ritualistic killings, human extermination by poisoning, bathing in human blood for youthfulness; blasphemy, false preaching, pollution, etc., have attributed to an almost two decades setback.

                        Today we see a close confidant of the current era; Mr. Willie Knuckles, others like Mr. Edwin M Snowe, K. Earl Murray, Gyude Bryant and Charles Taylor the likes, undermining advancement, creating failed opportunities, embarrassing the “Iron Lady’s” direction for progress. Mr. Knuckles betrayed the government and the Liberian people. He shamed his family and friends, most especially, during these trying times after the atrocious civil war.

                        Knowing that something of this magnitude could surface via the innovation of technology was a huge risk to accept a public office and or Madam President to select him to that high position. A concurrence to have himself photographed - WARNING: Content is sexually explicit!!!! - (Knuckles’ threesome photo XXXX) was a grave blunder! Now fully exposed, what else is there to hide? The consequence of this irresponsibility must be addressed publicly.

Inevitably, a reasonable plead to Madam Pres. is to show an example to the nation and the world, so those men and women who engaged in promiscuous pleasures, exploiting the beauty of sex and public service must realize that they are held accountable for their action(s), if caught. It is time to take a stand for righteousness!

 Commentary:   Viewpoint expressed herein is not projected to garble minds to judgment, “…For we all have sinned and fallen short of the kingdom”…instead, it is to hearten all strong, faithful Liberians the-world-over to choose to rise up, speak and fight against these ills, which continued to ruin our lands and shores, yea the universe. How do our kids grasp the concept that AIDS is real? What are we imparting to them? Where is the leverage of decency for their future?

It is disgusting, even more, unfortunate that this episode of the Liberian struggle originates out of Machiavellian motives allegedly relating to the Edwin Snowe impeachment saga. Why not surprising? Until total crack down on that immature prototype and perpetrators, victims will always suffer.
